Promise land: By Otatade Iseghohi Okojie

Promise Land - Poem by Otatade IseghohiOkojie

Bright with salt,
and mustard for tears,
cushioning all your
neatly wrapped fears,
Silence the pain,
Tap into the ideas,
and set your soul free,
Frustration is
not the final equation,
The journey is long,
Gravelled and steep,
Your feet may ache,
Your toes may bleed,
Just pass this
are dreams you speak,
so fight,
and don't fall asleep,
In this life
We are testaments
to ourselves
we mould we shape,
when no one else
has plastercene enough,
A self that is tough,
A spirit that flies,
and can swallow the sky,
Keep pushing forward,
Keep striving wide,
Victory lies
On the other side.
